"A Person Must See to it That His Wife is Wise" • A Lesson from the Melaveh Malkah (post-Shabbat meal) of Parshat Vayeshev from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you is a summary of topics from the lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, during the fourth meal, Melaveh Malkah (post-Shabbat meal), on the night following the holy Shabbat of Parshat Vayeshev:
The Rebbe (Rebbe Nachman) says to hit one's head against the wall to become proficient in all the seven wisdoms (secular sciences). They have now finished [learning Tractate] Bava Batra; the Gemara (Talmud) tells of a modest girl who was walking at 3:00 AM in the streets. He told her, "One child is from the father, but you are not from your father." The Tosafot (medieval Talmudic commentators) asks how Tamar was permitted to Amnon, for if she was the daughter of David and he was her brother from the same father, how could they be permitted? Rather, it was because the mother was Maacah (a captive woman). A woman who was the head of a band of robbers captured Rabbi Zeiri bar Rabbi Chanina. Tomorrow, the terrorists are moving to live here because they have nowhere else to live; the rebels are invading Jerusalem. Diocletian (the Roman Emperor)—they threw stones at him, so he threw everyone into the fiery furnace, including Rabbi Yehuda Nesi'ah (the Prince) who is buried on Mount Canaan. Everyone should travel to Mount Canaan and return by Chatzos (midnight) and recite Tikkun Chatzot (the midnight lamentation prayer). When he threw Yehuda Nesi'ah into the fire, the demon Antagris came and cooled the bathhouse for him. The girls do not throw stones; Osnat (Joseph's wife) is the Gematria (numerical value) of seven times "Chochmah" (wisdom). The woman needs to be proficient in all the wisdoms, and then she will be able to be a principal, to open seminaries for all of Israel. A thousand female principals for a thousand girls—that is a million girls doing teshuvah (repentance), and then the war will end. The war continues because they did not lengthen the dresses and did not break the smartphones. Whoever bought one should break it this very night, and we will see the war stop immediately. The war has stopped, and [what remains] is only for appearances. Hashem gave the woman wisdom a million times greater than that of the man. The woman comes from the Chochmah (wisdom) of Ban (a Kabbalistic name of Hashem), while the man is only from the Binah (understanding) of Ban—half of the woman. Whoever has a daughter born to him will receive two hundred. Once, everyone lived up to 400 years, like Boaz. There was an argument between the brothers and Joseph, where Joseph claimed they were twelve brothers. If Jacob leaves an inheritance of 1.2 billion, and just the dogs appointed over the flocks were 1.2 million, then why did they need to sell Joseph? Because whoever would reveal that Joseph was alive would die on the spot. Therefore, they placed Asher under a Cherem (excommunication) because they thought he revealed it to Serach bat Asher, but she was a prophetess. A woman arrives home and in five minutes washes the entire house. I heard Rabbi Avraham Yosef say that his wife used to teach the children Gemara (Talmud). A woman can know Gemara; the entire child is 100% from the mother. Rebbe Nachman says in Torah 2 [of Likutey Moharan], "From Hashem comes a wise (maskeles) woman," meaning a person must see to it that his wife is wise, like Osnat who was proficient in the seven wisdoms. She needs to know how to dismantle an atom, how to reduce the atom in nature from 235 to 238, which is an atomic bomb—uranium. Syria is a billion rebels entering Jerusalem; Biden agreed, but Trump did not. Trump enters in another 30 days on January 20th, the 20th of Tevet. On December 25th is Nittel Katan (a time when some refrain from Torah study), but Rabbi Levi Yitzchak said there is no Nittel in Eretz Yisrael (the Land of Israel). To us, it does not apply; we have not seen it. We only travel to Rabbi Yehuda Nesi'ah, immerse in the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) in the Well of Miriam. Whoever immerses in the Well of Miriam merits that all the gates of wisdom will open for him. Wednesday night is the first candle [of Hanukkah], and then the gates of wisdom open—the 50th gate, all the gates of Binah (understanding). We have three days to prepare for Hanukkah. Everyone will travel to Yehuda Nesi'ah, immerse in the Kinneret, and return at 4:00 AM.
