The actor Rafi Amzalag (known for his bald look), who became famous in 2001 when he participated in the well-known television series "Zinzana" and subsequently continued to act in many series and films over the years until starring in the docu-reality show "The Unit" in 2016, gives a special interview in honor of the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days).

"If Rabbi Berland is coming to Tel Aviv, it is a sign that Mashiach (the Messiah) must be coming to Jerusalem," Amzalag told his brother-in-law, who had informed him about Rabbi Berland's class at Ohel Yisrael. Consequently, Amzalag sent his wife to look for the synagogue where Rabbi Berland was scheduled to speak. However, his wife could not find it, and Amzalag told her, "If Rabbi Berland arrives, rest assured that we will hear about it."

"I must tell you that it is truly rare for Rabbi Berland to come here, because after all, there are five restaurants around us that sell non-kosher meat, and suddenly Rabbi Berland arrives at this corner, which is also right across from my house?" Amzalag asks. "Suddenly, I hear the songs of Uman Rosh Hashanah and I realized that Rabbi Berland was arriving. Despite being involved in the media through my work there, I am very careful not to accept all the lashon hara (evil speech/gossip) found there. You have never seen a leader like Rabbi Berland, whom multitudes run after; we aren't just talking about Chassidim dancing in the streets."

"More than 30 years ago, I was a socialite living in nightclubs until a friend of mine who had returned to the faith invited me to visit the Or HaChaim Yeshiva of Rabbi Elbaz, and I returned in teshuvah (repentance). During that period, a special event occurred when the brother of my chavrusa (study partner) at Or HaChaim invited me to visit Rabbi Berland's Shuvu Banim Yeshiva in the Old City and told me that my place was with Rebbe Nachman. During that visit, I met one of Rabbi Berland's students named Moshe Revach, and I indeed moved to Shuvu Banim. Fate would have it that I went through what I went through until I eventually became an actor, but I never abandoned my connection with Hashem and Rebbe Nachman. Thus, this past Rosh Hashanah, I traveled to Uman, and from the first day, I looked for Moshe Revach and indeed found him." The actor Rafi Amzalag shares the impressions that remained with him from his acquaintance with Rabbi Berland shlit"a, which have sustained him in his teshuvah (repentance) throughout the entire journey.
