An Old Approbation from the Holy Steipler Includes Words of Praise for the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

From time to time, another measure is revealed regarding the love and esteem that the Gedolei HaDor (leaders of the generation) demonstrated toward our Teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

There is a booklet titled 'Avnei HaMenorah' (second edition Kislev 5739, [12/1978] Bnei Brak), which is a compilation of Torah teachings, prayers, psalms, and songs for the days of Chanukah, citing laws, customs, and stories regarding the holiday matters. The booklet was published by the "Keren R' Natan z"l" fund, named after Rabbi Natan ben Rabbi Naftali Carlebach, and it was founded by Breslov Chassidim to assist grooms.

While leafing through the booklet,  a recommendation was discovered at the end of the book from Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky (the Steipler) in these words: "Behold, the dear avreich (young Torah scholar), outstanding in Torah and fear of Heaven, our Teacher Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a is occupied with the great mitzvah of Hachnasas Kallah (providing for needy brides) for Torah scholars from the Breslov Yeshiva (and named Keren R' Natan Carlebach z"l) ..., [Also included are] the recommendations of Rabbi Wosner and the Badatz of Jerusalem.
