Towards the start of the winter semester (zman choref), the attendants of the home of our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, invited hundreds of Anash (our community) from all over the country to enter the inner sanctum. Under the banner of "Ascending in Holiness," they merited to take upon themselves a resolution (kabbalah) regarding strengthening Torah study for the healing of the wounded, the release of the hostages, the swift end of the war, and for the success of our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

Indeed, on Wednesday and Thursday, the 28th and 29th of Tishrei, hundreds of Anash arrived from all over the country and merited to present before the holy Rav the resolution they took upon themselves for the start of the semester. It is well known how much our teacher, the Rav, strengthens others in the study of the holy Torah, and here, one could not miss the pure face of our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, which radiated light and overflowed with nachas (satisfaction) to see his beloved sons ascending in holiness and adding resolutions in Torah study.

In appreciation, our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, gave each and every person a willow branch (aravah) that he had beaten on Hoshana Rabbah during the recent Sukkot holiday. It is well known from the words of our holy Rebbe Nachman in Sefer HaMiddos (The Aleph-Bet Book) that "beaten Hoshanos are a segulah (spiritual remedy) to nullify fear."
