This morning, it seemed unlikely that Rav Eliezer Berland, shlita, would be given permission by the Israeli courts to light his own bonfire in Meron, within Shuvu Banim’s private area, as part of the celebrations for the hiloula of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, z’tl.

> But great is the power of prayer!

Later in the day, the situation turned around, and the courts decided that there was no legal justification for keeping the Rav away from Meron.

With Hashem’s help, we would like to invite all members of the public to join us this evening, when Rav Eliezer Berland will light the Shuvu Banim bonfire in the yeshiva’s private area in Meron.

Coming to Meron on L’Ag B’Omer – and making the effort to travel to the Tzaddik - is known to be a tremendous segulah for all sorts of miracles and salvations, with more than half a million people from all backgrounds making the trip in recent years.

Over the last five years, the authorities have made it easier and more comfortable for people to travel up, by arranging a number of ‘park and ride’ facilities in neighboring cities around Meron, including Karmiel, where visitors can easily leave their cars and bus in.

Alternatively, there are many public buses coming directly into Meron from locations all over the country, that are running at all hours of the night and day. And this year for the first time, you can also book a helicopter ride to take you straight up to Meron, too.

The nation of Israel is facing so many trials and tribulations, and all of us have our own struggles to contend with, and miracles that we require, in our private lives, too.

This year more than ever, no-one should be missing from the gathering in Meron.
