"Every Girl Must Know All Seven Wisdoms" • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Presented before you is a summary of topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Tuesday night, the eve of the 24th of Kislev, Parshas Miketz:

In another 24 hours, we will light the first candle. Everyone is obligated in the Chanukah candle, including women, because a woman [Yehudit] cut off the head of Nicanor [the Greek general], and then they all fled. The skin of the elephant is 25 cm thick; Eleazar [the Maccabee] would kill a hundred thousand with every blow, but in the end, he stabbed the elephant and the elephant [falling] killed him. The second death was that of Yonatan in Medeba. The Ma’ayanah Shel Torah asks what the difficulty was in solving Pharaoh's dreams—that stalks represent grain and cows represent meat. Korach claimed that all the miracles were merely a fata morgana (mirage). The men tore the earrings from the women's ears [for the Golden Calf]; every woman let her husband go to the dances of the Calf, so they died at age sixty and did not enter Gan Eden (Paradise). The Zohar says that every Chatzos (midnight), they are clothed in bodies and beaten. A woman's intellect is a million times greater than a man's. Men throw stones, just as they threw them at Emperor Diocletian, who was a swineherd in front of the Cheder (school) of Rabbi Yehuda Nesiah, who is buried on Mount Canaan. He [Diocletian] decided to put Rabbi Yehuda Nesiah into the fiery furnace, but he did not burn. Rabbi Chanina ben Teradyon also did not burn; a Jew does not burn. We say "V'Hu Rachum" (And He is Merciful) every Monday because when they arrived in Algeria and Morocco, the king said, "How will I know you are Jews? I will put you in the fire," because Jews do not burn. Just as when gold is placed in fire, all the dross is removed. An atom is 258 in nature; to make a bomb, they need to lower it with centrifuges and sucrose to 235. The atom will fall here in the middle but will turn into candies. Every girl will learn to make an atomic bomb through the secret of E=mc². This was the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Jews are not invited to ceremonies even though they suffered the most in the Holocaust, because they say they didn't have a state—but we will travel even though we don't have a license. Lise [Meitner] was the first Jewish woman who performed the experiment of splitting the atom. December 24th is Nittel Nacht (Christmas Eve); he [Jesus] was not, was not born, and was not created. Tonight is Nittel. Whoever wants to celebrate should drink a barrel of wine, and then there are car accidents. In another three hours it is Nittel; we will say Chatzos (Midnight Lamentations). Every girl needs to say Chatzos from the 'Shaarei Zion' prayer book. Every girl needs to know all the seven wisdoms, and she has an intellect a million times greater than Lavan's. Bruriah learned in one day what is normally learned in three years. Everyone once was members of Atzel [referring to the family of Atzel in Chronicles]. The sons of Atzel... Atzel had 400 camels. The books of Chronicles and Psalms were twice as long as they are today. But they were hidden (genizah) because people said Psalms all day; a person must study Gemara (Talmud)—without Gemara, he is just throwing stones. There is a question in the Beis Yosef about who must pay for damage. The Avkas Rochel writes in section 154 that it is the nature of children to throw stones. Every girl should be a principal of a seminary and know all of mathematics and study Tanach (Bible). There is a vacation during Chanukah; one can study. The Gemara in Shabbos says that the miracle was a "seal within a seal." Every girl needs to be a principal of a seminary of a thousand girls—that's a thousand seminaries, which equals a million girls doing teshuvah (repentance), and then there won't be kidnapped girls in Gaza for 400 days already.
