Frightening: He Spoke Against the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a and Received a Swift Response
Much has been spoken about the need to be careful regarding Lashon Hara (evil speech) against any Jew, and all the more so when it concerns the True Tzaddik, in the aspect of "Beware of their coals, for their bite is the bite of a scorpion" (Tractate Avot 2:10). Here is a shocking story that occurred in Brachfeld (Modi'in Illit) regarding a man who spoke against the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

"My neighbor is a follower of Rabbi Berland shlit"a and loves his Rebbe very much. One day during the week, he was driving his seven-seater vehicle, passing through Yehuda HaNasi Street in Brachfeld. Suddenly, a Jew approached him, pressed up against his car, and began speaking disparagingly against Rabbi Berland shlit"a. 'Such and such is said against the Rav,' the man began to unleash buckets of venom against the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, while my neighbor tried with all his might to dissuade him from those lies and obscenities he was speaking."

"In the meantime, two buses arrived on the same street where we were located, coming from opposite directions—one from Rashi Street toward Yehuda HaNasi, while the second bus came opposite it. The street became crowded, and as a result, the bus driver did not see the person who was speaking to my neighbor against Rabbi Berland shlit"a and began to crush him against the neighbor's car."

"The metal of the car was literally crushed, and my neighbor yelled toward him, 'Ask for forgiveness from Rabbi Berland shlit"a!' That very opponent screamed out of pain with terrible shouts: 'I ask forgiveness, Morinu HaRav (Berland) shlit"a, that I spoke against you; I ask forgiveness.' At that very moment, the bus swerved to the left, and the man who had spoken was released [from the crush] in terrible pain, to the point that his phone was broken as a result of the crushing pressure."
"That Jew took upon himself from that moment on never to speak against Rabbi Berland shlit"a again, and wonder of wonders, that very night all his pains passed and vanished."

"This story awakens us to be careful about speaking against Tzaddikim, and specifically against our Teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. May we merit that his light goes out and is revealed to all the People of Israel, and may we merit to see the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the coming of the Righteous Redeemer, Amen, may it be His Will."
