From Guard to Gabbai: Aviran Salomon's story

FROM RAV BERLAND'S GUARD, TO RAV BERLAND'S GABBAI

Aviran Salomon was one of the court-appointed guards that accompanied Rav Eliezer Berland, shlita, home from the Hadassah hotel.

I videos from 2017, you can see Aviran standing next to the Rav as he prayed in the Beit HaRav underneath his apartment building, on Ido HaNavi street.

As one of Rav Berland's security team, Aviran spent long days and nights by the Rav's side - as part of his job. The court-appointed guards disappeared a long time ago, but Aviran was so touched by what he was witnessing day in and day out, by Rav Berland, that some time ago, he decided to trade in his post as a guard, to become one of Rav Berland's gabbays (attendants) instead.

Last week, Aviran married a girl from the Shuvu Banim community, and Rav Berland officiated at their wedding. We wish the happy couple a hearty mazal tov, and bless them that Hashem should shower them with every good thing.
