He Merited World Kingship in the Merit of Chanukah Candles! • A Prayer for the Molad (New Moon) of the Month of Kislev

Tomorrow - Thursday, the 29th of Mar-Cheshvan at 1:17 PM and 9 chalakim (parts of a minute), the Molad (new moon announcement) of the month of Kislev 5786 will occur. Before you is a prayer written by the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days) for the Molad of the month of Kislev 5786:

The Molad of Kislev 5786

Rosh Chodesh (the New Month) of Kislev is on Friday

1:17 and 9 parts, Thursday

Master of the World, All-Powerful, from Whom no purpose can be withheld, merit me for the Molad (new moon) of Kislev, Thursday 1:17, 9 chalakim (parts of a minute), about an hour after midday, that all the gates of Chochmah (Wisdom), Binah (Understanding), and Da'as (Knowledge) will open for me—Counsel and Might and Knowledge and Fear of Hashem [numerical value 1650], and let the verse be fulfilled in me [1650 - 15]: "And she took (514) the veil (255) and covered herself" (586). Save me from pride, and let us merit all the lights of Chanukah, from eight down to one. Open for us all fifty gates of Binah (Understanding) and the thirty-two (L-B) gates of Chochmah (Wisdom). For then, on Chanukah, Hevel (Abel) was killed by Kayin (Cain) on Zos Chanukah (the eighth day of Chanukah), because he aimed only and solely for Hashem, and he merited to be included in the holy Shechinah (Divine Presence) in perfection, and he descended in the reincarnation of Sheis (Seth); therefore, this was a day of mourning for all the worlds. But Adam HaRishon (the First Man), in his great mercy and kindness, turned these days of mourning into the eight days of Chanukah twice (as mentioned in Tractate Avodah Zarah 8a), according to the opinion of Beis Hillel from one to eight, and according to the opinion of Beis Shammai who start with eight and end with one. For the main thing is like Beis Shammai—to receive all the light at once, in one moment, in one minute, in one second. Therefore, the holy and awesome Zohar begins Parshas Vayigash with the question, "Do you have a father (Av) or a brother?" which Joseph asked the brothers—asking if they light according to Beis Shammai, eight down to one, or according to Beis Hillel, "Av" (Father), according to the order of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (represented by the letters Aleph, Beis, etc.). The brothers answered him: "We have an old father (Av)"—meaning we always follow only our holy and awesome Rebbe (Rebbe Nachman) in humility like our forefathers, and they left Egypt "with a high hand" (BeYad Ramah). (The Rav shlit"a said to add here the following section from Chayei Moharan 223:) [In the midst of this, he closed his hands tightly and made a fist, and shook his fist with strength, as if to say, "Even so, my strength is very strong within me." And it is impossible to depict this in writing. And the meaning of his words was that even in the intensity of the body's physical weakness, his strength was still strong and courageous, and his strength continues to grow stronger to finish everything according to his will with the help of Hashem Yisbarach]. Like Washington, who merited world kingship in the merit of the Chanukah candles that are lit from one to eight.
