Prayer for the Time of the Molad (New Moon Announcement) of the Month of Tammuz 5777 from our teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a
"Master of the World, Almighty, from Whom no purpose can be withheld. At the Molad (announcement of the new moon) of the month of Tammuz, which will be on Shabbat morning at 9:55 and 13 chalakim (parts of a minute), the secret of 'Hashem is One' (Echad = 13). For 13 X 26 (the numerical value of the name of Hashem) = Shaul + 1 = 338. For Shaul (Saul), who was from the children of Rachel—'in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at evening he shall divide the spoil'—was meant to wipe out Amalek and bring the complete Geulah (Redemption). This is like Joshua bin Nun, who stopped the sun on the 3rd of Tammuz, as it is written: 'And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? And the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.' This was twice twenty-four hours at noon and at sunset; it traveled six hours from sunrise to noon, and another six from noon to sunset, and stood still for 24 hours like a complete day (Avodah Zarah 25a). Therefore, 13 times the Name Havayah (Hashem) equals 'Shaul' with the kolel (the word itself). For in the month of Tammuz, Moses descended with the first Luchos (Tablets), and Joshua bin Nun stopped the sun and the moon on the 3rd of the month, in the secret of 'Hashem is my light (Ori) and my salvation (Yishi).' 'Ori' corresponds to the light of the sun that Joshua stopped, and 'Yishi' corresponds to the light of the moon that Joshua stopped."
"For the secret of 'Ori' (my light) is the Light of the letter Yud, which is the Avir Kadmon (Primordial Air). 'Yishi' (my salvation) is the secret of the salvation of the letter Yud—'For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation (yesha), He has covered me with the robe (me'il) of righteousness.' For the 'me'il' (robe) is the lower part of the Olam HaMalbush (World of the Garment), which we merit after Shavuot. All the renewal of the worlds—the renewal of the sun and the moon—takes place in the Avir Kadmon (Primordial Air). For the 'garments of salvation' are the Malbush (Garment), and the 'me'il' (robe) is the lower half of the Malbush, while the 'levush' (clothing) of the upper half wraps over him and covers him."
"For the month of Tammuz is auspicious for the first Luchos (Tablets) through Moses, and the stopping of the sun and moon by Joshua, in the secret of 'Remember us for life, King who desires life.' These are the new Mochin (intellectual lights) that we receive in the month of Tammuz, when the sun and moon, male and female, connect. Then we merit in the month of Tammuz (the letters of which form the acronym) 'Zichru Torat Moshe' (Remember the Torah of Moses). We then merit the innermost dimension of the inner dimension, which is the attainment of Panim b'Panim (face to face perception of the Divine)."
"For in the month of Tammuz the Luchos (Tablets) were broken, in the secret of 'Hashem tore His purple garment.' But this was 'tearing in order to sew.' For the month of Tammuz is in the secret of 'Like a groom (chasan) coming out of his bridal canopy (chuppah).' The Groom, who is Hashem, comes out from His canopy that covers Him, emerging from all the coverings, and reveals Himself to us in the first Luchos (Tablets), eye to eye—'For eye to eye You, Hashem, are seen by them.' In the month of Tammuz, we must complete the Nesirah (the process of spiritual separation), in the secret of 'tearing in order to sew'."
"And then it will be fulfilled in us: 'Sun, stand still in Gibeon, and moon, in the valley of Aijalon.' For in Tammuz, there is the greatest revelation of the first Luchos (Tablets). Regarding 'Sun, stand still in Gibeon,' Joshua said to the sun: 'I will sing the song in your place' (Tanchuma). For Leah is above the Parsa (spiritual curtain), which is the Reisha d'Lo Ityada (the Unknown Head). Now we begin to prepare for Rosh Hashanah, for Jacob in Tammuz is in the Reisha d'Lo Ityada, in the levels of Atik and Arich. Leah corresponds to the crown of Binah (Understanding), and Rachel corresponds to the Galgalta (Skull) and Mocha Stima'ah (Hidden Brain), in the aspect of Rachel who receives from Jacob, who is Zeir Anpin (the Small Face/Emotional attributes)."
