Asara B'Teves (The Tenth of Teves)

Master of the World, Almighty, on Asara B'Teves (the Tenth of Teves), when the Holy Temple of Fire was meant to descend, the Yahrtzeit (anniversary of passing) of Ezra the Scribe and Moharanat (Reb Noson), when every single person can merit to be like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Aaron, and Joseph—overthrow all the haters and enemies who pursue the People of Israel. Merit me to be "exactly like me" (a reference to Rebbe Nachman's statement that his followers can reach his level), and may I merit to perform miracles and wonders like our holy and awesome Rebbe (Rebbe Nachman). May the verses be fulfilled in me: "For Hashem shall comfort Zion; He will comfort all her waste places, and He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Hashem; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody." Hashem, comfort Zion, comfort all her waste places, and make her wilderness like Eden and her desert like the garden of Hashem; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

"You will arise and have mercy on Zion, for it is time to favor her, for the appointed time has come." Zion, for it is time to favor her, for the appointed time has come. And in the merit of Mahlah, Noa, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah, the daughters of Zelophehad—who was the awesome fear of the People of Israel, who gave his life (mesirus nefesh) for the Sabbath so that the Holy Temple would not be destroyed, and desired to be included in the Tree of Life. For on Asara B'Teves, it is possible to revive all the dead, and then Esther enters the house of Ahasuerus, and then all the judgments (Dinim) in the world are sweetened. "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow," like Hillel who was covered by three cubits of snow, the measurement of a Mikvah (ritual bath), for Hillel himself was a Mikvah of purity, which is the height of three cubits. For the true Tzaddik is himself the height of three cubits of snow that purifies all creatures who want to return in Teshuvah (repentance) in truth. For the true Tzaddikim, Rebbe Nachman and Moharanat (Reb Noson), are the two great luminaries in the aspect of the moon and the sun, the sun and the moon, and they can sweeten every judgment in the world, as it is said: "Your wife (721) is like a fruitful (301) vine (153)" = 1169, "in the innermost parts of your house." For a woman is in the aspect of the moon, in the secret of the "two luminaries (653) that our G-d (102) created (303) through Mordechai the Jew (40)" = 1169. For on Asara B'Teves, we receive the two Tablets anew, which correspond to Rachel and Leah, and we hear the Ten Commandments anew. For on Asara B'Teves, Jephthah tried to slaughter his daughter and a Heavenly Voice (Bat Kol) went out: "Do not stretch out your hand against the lad" [End of Abudraham, Essay on the Seasons]. And then we merit the twelve stones of the Choshen (Breastplate) of the High Priest who returns to his service, which are: Odem, Pitdah, Bareket, Nofech, Sapir, Yahalom, Leshem, Shevo, Achlamah, Tarshish, Shoham, and Yashfeh.

Prayer 2

Asara B'Teves (The Tenth of Teves)

For on Asara B'Teves, the 'Heh' of the Name Havayah (Hashem's four-letter name) is completed through the ten tribes who are included in one another: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. They are included in the month of Teves, which is the month included in Netzach, Hod, and Yesod of Zeir Anpin (Kabbalistic configurations of the Sefiros), which is the "Middle Bolt" that passes from end to end. For the entire work is to lengthen the letter 'Yud' so that it turns into a 'Vav,' for "Moses called Hoshea, Joshua (Yehoshua)," and at the end of Parshas Devarim, Joshua receives the second 'Vav,' which is the perfection of the name Yehoshua (Joshua), the acronym for "Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust."

For to connect the two foundations (Yesodos)—the Yesod of Binah-Leah, the secret of Ahasuerus, and the secret of the Yesod of Binah of Malchus, the secret of the Yesod of Rachel—and when the two foundations are connected, then this is the nullification of the kingdom of the idolaters, which will happen on Asara B'Teves. Just as the kingdom of Haman was nullified over seventy days, which correspond to Cheshvan, Kislev, and ten days of Teves. For on the 16th of Nissan, the kingdom of Haman was nullified a minute before he was supposed to receive the right to hang people as he wished. And the nullification of Haman's kingdom that occurred on the 16th of Nissan is drawn from the power of Asara B'Teves, about which it is said, "On this very day, the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem." This phrase "this very day" is also said regarding Yom Kippur, for Asara B'Teves is exactly like Yom Kippur, which would override the Sabbath if Asara B'Teves were to fall on the Sabbath.

For the power of Asara B'Teves is drawn from Adam Kadmon (the Primordial Man), from the Atara (Crown) of the Atara, in the secret of "May they come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the crown of the head of him who was separated from his brothers." For only Joseph merited the secret of the Kodkod (crown of the head), which is Adam Kadmon of Adam Kadmon. And with this power, it is said regarding Gad, "He tore the arm, even the crown of the head," in the secret of "the hairy crown of the head that walks in its guiltiness." For only through the illumination of the Kodkod is it possible to cut off all the guilty ones, and this will be done by the tribe of Gad, from whom Elijah the Prophet emerged, about whom it is said, "He tore the arm, even the crown of the head." For Benjamin is the arm, "and He dwells between his shoulders," and therefore Elijah is also mentioned among the descendants of Benjamin.

For through the month of Teves, which is when the connection of Rachel and Leah (274) occurs, we nullify all the "Aradim" (demonic wild donkeys) in the world that were drawn from the bones of the one whose name should be ground to dust, Balaam the Wicked and Balak his companion, who also have the Gematria (numerical value) of 274. This is the Gematria of Arad = 274, about which the Holy One, Blessed be He, asks Job: "Can you emerge from the shell of the Arad (274)? And who loosened the bonds of the Arad?"

Prayer 3

Master of the World, Almighty, on the Yahrtzeit (anniversary of passing) of our teacher Reb Noson zt"l (of blessed memory), merit me, G-d (31) full of (71) mercy (298), to see Elijah (52) the Prophet (68) remembered (233) for good (47) face to face. And may the verse be fulfilled in me: "Then (8) Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Hashem." And may I merit on the Yahrtzeit of our teacher Reb Noson zt"l to be a veteran (516) student (484) = 1808 of our holy and awesome Rebbe (Rebbe Nachman). And through this, may that which is said be fulfilled in me: "You delivered (700) the mighty (261) into the hand (16) of the weak (388), and the many (258) into the hand (16) of the few (169)" = 1808.
