Rabbi Berland shlit"a Blessed the Singer Omer Adam: "Organize a Massive Performance in a Stadium and I Will Come There. We Will Strengthen the Public and Bring All of the People of Israel Back in Teshuvah"

The successful and beloved singer Omer Adam, who is drawing closer to Judaism, met today at noon with our teacher, Rabbi Berland shlit"a, as the Rav was leaving a home-based Torah class (chug bayit) in Tel Aviv, which he holds daily.

The singer was seen requesting a blessing from Rabbi Berland, who blessed him warmly and said to him: "Organize a massive performance in a stadium and I will come there. We will strengthen the public and bring all of the People of Israel back in teshuvah (repentance)."

The singer took leave of the Rav with great emotion as the Rav entered his car and departed to continue his schedule of home-based Torah classes.

Omer Adam caused a great Kiddush Hashem (sanctification of G-d's Name) when he announced that he was not willing to perform on the Sabbath (Shabbat), even in exchange for over one and a half million shekels offered to him for participating in an event planned to take place on Saturday.

A few months ago, as part of the largest performance he ever had, the singer chose to utilize the platform to convey the important message of Shmiras HaLashon (guarding one's speech). In the days before Rosh Hashanah, Omer Adam held a special and moving evening of Selichos (penitential prayers) at his home.
