Rosh Hashanah with Rebbe Nachman in Uman with the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Berland shlit"a

A special Rosh Hashanah was experienced by Anash (our community) with the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days) at the "Kibbutz HaGadol" (the great gathering) on Rosh Hashanah in Uman.

On the night of Rosh Hashanah, minutes before the holiness of the holiday commenced, the Rav shlit"a arrived at the holy Tziyun (burial site) of Rebbe Nachman zy"a (may his merit protect us), following hours of receiving the public, during which he received hundreds for blessings on the eve of the holiday.

The central Kloiz (synagogue) founded by Reb Michel was filled to capacity by all of Anash, without disputes or factions—like one man with one heart, everyone in total unity (hiskalelus) together.

On the mornings of the days of Rosh Hashanah, the Rav shlit"a arrived at the Tziyun at 6:30 AM and prayed with the public until the Torah reading, which he conducted in his home.

During the afternoon hours of the first day of the holiday, the Rav shlit"a went out for Tashlich (the prayer by the water) accompanied by thousands of people. The Rav recited the Tashlich for many long minutes, repeating every sentence several times.

At the conclusion of Tashlich, the Rav went up to the Kloiz where he delivered a Torah lesson (shiur) for about 20 minutes.

This morning, on Tzom Gedalia (the Fast of Gedalia), the Rav shlit"a arrived for the Shacharit (morning) prayer at the holy Tziyun at 6:30 AM, half an hour before sunrise (Netz HaChama), and prayed with the large crowd. As is well known, the Rav says that the "Kibbutz HaGadol" (the great gathering) only concludes after the Shacharit prayer of Tzom Gedalia.
