Shiur Aleph (First-Year Class) of 'Breslov Chochma V'Daat' Yeshiva at the Residence of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

On last Wednesday, the 17th of Adar II, Parshat Tzav, the students of Shiur Aleph (first-year class) of the 'Breslov Chochma V'Daat' Yeshiva entered for a lesson at the residence of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. Before you is a summary of the lesson:

The Rav shlit"a began the lesson by strengthening the students in studying the Parsha (weekly Torah portion) with all the various commentaries, and as an example, he brought several original insights from the weekly portions which are cited in the aforementioned commentaries. Afterward, he spoke about the greatness of the merit and the obligation of singing Zemiros (Shabbat songs) during all the seudos (festive meals), the virtue of each and every meal, and "surpassing them all"—the Seudah Revi'is (the fourth meal). Following this, he spoke about the Aggados (narrative portions) of the Shas (Talmud). From there, he moved on to discuss the legal issue of a red-hot knife and, of course, cited the Gemara regarding how Rabbah slaughtered Rabbi Zera [during a Purim feast].
During the lesson, the Mashgiach (spiritual supervisor), the Chassid Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Ashlag shlit"a, asked the Rav in front of the students how one can merit to know the entire Torah by heart. The Rav shlit"a replied that the main thing is to learn with enjoyment and to turn the learning into stories.
The lesson continued for two full hours! The precious students merited to leave strengthened for the rest of their lives in their studies at the holy 'Breslov Chochma V'Daat' Yeshiva, to rise and ascend in the holy Torah.
