Shiur for Bachurim at the Residence of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

On Monday, the night of the 19th of Tammuz, Parshas Pinchas, a shiur (Torah lesson) was held at the home of Morinu HaRav (our teacher, the Rav) shlit"a for bachurim (young men) from all across the country.

Before you is a summary of the shiur delivered to the bachurim for nearly an hour:

Everyone travels to the hiloula (anniversary of passing) of Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira in Egypt. Balaam said, "If I cannot curse, then I will bless." Hashem said to him, "Do not bless and do not curse." The attacks from Iran did not succeed because there were girls here who recited Tehillim (Psalms) and built a wall against Khamenei's missiles. Before the Churban (destruction of the Temple), "The kings of the earth and all the inhabitants of the world did not believe that an adversary and enemy would enter the gates of Jerusalem." They entered on the 7th of Av and tried to light [the fire] but did not succeed. The story of "When you pass through the water, I am with you" (Isaiah 43:2) regarding the Jews who came from the Diaspora to North Africa and entered the fire. Bathsheba—King Solomon's mother rebuked him the day after his wedding to Pharaoh's daughter. She tied him to a pillar and said, "What, my son? And what, the son of my womb?" (Proverbs 31:2). All of David's wives prayed that their son would be king, but I prayed that you would be a tzaddik (righteous person). Now, "A star has stepped forth from Jacob" (Numbers 24:17)—this is the time of the Geulah (Redemption). The issue of the kiddushin (betrothal) of a minor daughter. During the Sin of the Golden Calf, the Satan showed the Jewish people the bed of Moshe Rabbeinu. Rebbe Nachman said he saw the "throne of shidduchim (marriage matches)"; whoever wants a shidduch should travel to Rebbe Nachman. Nadav and Avihu said, "When will these two old men die..." because they thought they could bring a higher spiritual level to the Jewish people. Hezekiah broke the high places (altars), and Rabshakeh stood and cried out against him for breaking the high places, claiming he did it because he wanted taxes. He said to the Jewish people, "If one of you is sick, you won't be able to offer a sacrifice on a high place and be saved," etc. Then Sennacherib, King of Assyria, arrived to fight. Hezekiah told them to go to sleep. And three miracles were performed for Hezekiah: 1. A miracle where the angel of Hashem struck the camp of Assyria. 2. That he rose from a sickness from which he was supposed to die ("You shall die and not live"). 3. The sun went backward. One must bring a silver bowl weighing 130 [shekels] to rectify the 130 [years] of Adam HaRishon (the first man), because he did not bring all his grandchildren back in teshuvah (repentance). Iyov (Job) is a reincarnation of Yuval, and his name is exchanged in the "Al-Bam" [kabbalistic cipher], and his sons who died were reincarnations of Cain. On the 15th of Av, one must dance all night because it is forty days before the creation of the world—which was on the 25th of Elul. The Tosafos says in Tractate Taanis that one must check during a meeting with a prospective match that she is not blind or missing a limb. "For Cain shall be avenged sevenfold" (Genesis 4:24)—seven generations from Cain are: Cain, Enoch, Irad, Mehujael, Methushael, Lamech, Jabal, Jubal, and Tubal-Cain, who came as a reincarnation of Cain.
