They’re Not Talking About You – It’s All Blessings

Daily Chizzuk by Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

Nov 10, 2022•עורך ראשי

THE DAILY CHIZZUK FROM OUR REBBE, THE GAON AND TZADDIK, RAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A – WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT SOMEONE, HE TAKES ALL THE TORAH OF THOSE WHO ARE TALKING

Tuesday, 14 Cheshvan 5783 – When a person persecutes in the name of Torah, there’s no end to his wickedness

These are his holy words:

“THE ENEMY SAID, I WILL PURSUE, I WILL OVERTAKE, I WILL DIVIDE PLUNDER; I WILL SATISFY MY LUST WITH THEM.  I WILL UNSHEATHE MY SWORD, MY HAND WILL IMPOVERISH THEM” (SHEMOT 15:9)

“ON EDOM I WILL TOSS MY SHOE” (TEHILIM 60:10)

What is “my shoe”?  Why not “my sword”?  It’s written, “I will unsheathe my sword.”  It’s not written, “I will unsheathe my shoe.”  Say “I will unsheathe my sword, I will toss my sword,” not my shoe.  Rather, the moment that the shoes of Leah join together with the Keter (crown) [of Rachel]… It’s written, “What humility made a heel for its foot, wisdom made a crown for its head.  Wisdom is only the heel of humility.  When a person is humble, they put him down, make fun of him, [and] he doesn’t respond, the moment that the person doesn’t hear the admonishment, he doesn’t answer…

I DIDN’T HEAR AT ALL…I DIDN’T HEAR.  THESE ARE WORDS OF HONOR.  TORAH 55 [IN] LIKUTEY MOHARAN – THAT ALL THE WORDS IN THE WORLD ARE ONLY WORDS OF HONOR.  IT’S JUST THAT THE COMBINATION [OF LETTERS] IS SWITCHED AROUND.

The Rebbe says that the Tzaddik builds from the controversy the Torah that you learned.  When a person disputes someone, when you speak [badly] about someone, then you vomit up all the Torah that you learned.

What is burning [bo’er] you?  The burner [bo’er] is the Torah!  Because a person thinks that it’s a mitzvah [to persecute someone else].  The Chazon Ish writes in “the trait of bitachon (trust)” that if a person is a zealot in the name of Torah, then there is no limit to his wickedness.
