NACHUM ISH GAMZU TAUGHT US THAT WAITING IS KETER (CROWN). NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY. THERE IS VALUE IN DELAY, IN PAUSE, IN GIVING TIME. Before Nachum Ish Gamzu unpacked the bundles (Taanit 21a), he said to the poor man, “Wait.” He told him, "Learn Lesson 6" (of Likutey Moharan).

First of all, there is the Lesson of “Hamten”—that’s Lesson 6 in Likutei Moharan. He brought him a Likutei Moharan and told him, "Learn Lesson 6."

Nachum Ish Gamzu said to the pauper, "Wait a moment, just a second, give me five minutes to unpack the bundles." A person is walking in the desert with his load for a week, a month—it’s all packed, everything is tightly bound. Without that, it would all fall apart in the desert.

Bring him a drink right away—don’t wait even a second.

What, just now I came from Uman.  He hasn’t eaten in three days, he hasn’t drunk in three days. Just from Kishinev to Uman is 12 hours, sometimes 18. If it’s from Budapest, it’s 24 hours; if it’s from Warsaw, it’s 36 hours.
