Watch: Amazing – I Received a Letter from the Rav Without Writing a Return Address – Miraculous Stories of the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a
"Record and film the people behind the stories you reveal to the world," commanded Morinu HaRav [The Rav] shlit"a when he told us to establish the Shuvu Banim International organization. "You will encounter many stories that are beyond all imagination, and people might mistakenly think you exaggerated the description of events. Therefore, you must present things from their source."
We must admit and confess that even now, after all the years we have been in the presence of the Rav shlit"a, the stories that reach us move us anew every time. Here is a story that, had it not come directly from the person involved, we would have feared someone was mocking us.
I sent a letter to the Rav, but I forgot to note my address. Two months passed, and I had already despaired of receiving an answer. A friend who grew up with me in childhood in the city of Tiberias found a letter addressed to me on the ground in the Geula neighborhood of Jerusalem.
After it became clear to the friend that my sister lives in Jerusalem, he went and left the letter with her; thus, in an amazing way, it reached me. In the letter to the Rav shlit"a, I did not mention that I am connected to Rabbi Shalom Arush shlit"a, but only asked him for advice regarding how to proceed in a personal matter. However, the Rav shlit"a answered me directly: "You are connected to a Rav who tells you what to do, but you do not listen to him. Fulfill his instructions, and you will quickly pass this test."
We took the letter to Rabbi Shalom Arush shlit"a, who recognized the handwriting. Indeed, I fulfilled the words of the Rav shlit"a, and today I am already a grandfather.
