Why Were Hundreds of Thousands of People Killed Instead of Redemption? The Daily Strengthening from the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

A total reversal, from Redemption to pogrom and then to Redemption – The Daily Strengthening from our teacher, the holy Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

Wednesday, 4th of Teves 5786 – The moment they left the synagogue on Yom Kippur, a terrorist came and ran them over to death!

These are his holy words:

Rabbi Noson learns according to what is written in the Zohar (Toldos) that the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple) was supposed to be built in the year 5408 (1648). He knew that the Temple needed to be built, and that there needed to be Techiyas HaMeisim (resurrection of the dead), but he asked, how is it possible that a total reversal occurred?

He said that in the year 5408 (1648), there was supposed to be Techiyas HaMeisim (resurrection of the dead) and the treasures of the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple). So how did it turn into a total reversal? Who reversed it?

But in truth, there was a Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple), there truly was Techiyas HaMeisim (resurrection of the dead) – we just didn't see it!

The Zohar in Toldos, page 139, says: "With 'Zos' (this)" – "Zos" refers to the year 5408 (1648), to sweeten the decrees so that the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple) would be built. How did it turn into a total reversal? Everything is reversed; Shuvu Banim (the return of the children) is all reversed, but is Likutey Halachos (the primary work of Rabbi Noson) also reversed?

Rabbi Noson says it was a total reversal. Not only was Mashiach (the Messiah) supposed to come, but instead, six hundred thousand people were killed (in the Chmielnicki massacres). They cut open pregnant women, placed cats inside their bellies and sewed them up; thousands were killed, six hundred thousand people—everyone was killed.

How is it possible that they were killed? It is against logic, against the intellect! Rather, in truth, the glory of Hashem (God) was revealed; there was a very great glory—Hashem took all those souls and with them, He built the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple).
