"Yocheved and Miriam—In Their Merit the Entire Nation of Israel was Born!" • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Presented before you is a summary of topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a—yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Monday night, the 14th of Tevet, Parshas Shemos:
In the merit of Yocheved and Miriam, the entire Nation of Israel exists. Therefore, the Clouds of Glory and all of Israel waited for Miriam after she spoke about Moses. This was because she heard a prophecy that Moses would die and she fainted; she traveled to Uman to Rebbe Nachman, to the Baal Shem Tov, and to Berditchev, and then it was said he would live another 40 years. So why did they say Moses died? Because they were studying in Shuvu Banim. Miriam began to speak "nonsense" (referring to her critique of Moses) and called to Aaron, yet the entire camp waited for her; they did not travel without Miriam. From the age of three, she was a midwife; she helped birth all the six hundred thousand (the 600,000 men of Israel). Pharaoh said, "If it is a daughter, let her live, but if it is a son, kill him." They were supposed to kill them because of the rule "chayecha kodmim" (your life takes precedence), as Pharaoh sent people every day to kill them. But they were turned into "houses" (dynasties of priesthood and royalty), decorations, and lanterns. Pharaoh knew they were lying to him, just as it was said in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" that Jews are the most terrible nation, a nation of liars and murderers. Biden said similar things until he became senile and then Harris was chosen, though no one wanted to vote for her. In Europe, they believe the Jews are to blame for the Holocaust; they found a slaughtered child and claimed a Jew slaughtered him, then caught the "murderer." To this day in Europe, the Jews are blamed and people think they should be killed. Ultimately, Trump's inauguration falls on the yahrtzeit (anniversary of passing) of the Rambam (Maimonides). The Rambam says that if one girl is harmed, the entire city must be killed. The Ramban (Nachmanides) disagrees, saying only Shechem and Chamor should be killed. One must study a chapter of Rambam every day. There are two hours until Chatzos (midnight); one must finish the entire Tehillim (Psalms), the entire Book of Kings, and all of the Rambam. Why did Yaakov (Jacob) curse his children, saying, "Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce... I will divide them in Jacob"? Shimon did not receive a portion of land, and neither did Levi. Why did Yaakov curse them? "For in their willfulness they slew a man, and in their self-will they hamstrung an ox." They sold Yosef (Joseph). I said to Yaakov, "Have mercy on them!"—not "You have brought trouble upon me" because they killed an entire city. A case was opened against me in the State Attorney's Office because they killed Shechem. One must know that daughters are worth a million times more than sons. Daughters represent the "Chochmah of Ban" (a Kabbalistic level of wisdom), while the son is "Binah of Ban"—only half of a woman's intellect. A son puts everything into gambling and ends up with a big zero. Then they get divorced, and the children sleep under trees without a home. A son just does foolish things every day. This is why they threw stones at Diocletian; he walked with pigs right in front of the Cheder (Torah school), and the children threw stones at him. What did he do? He became the Emperor of Rome and threw Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi into a fiery furnace. Of course, he emerged alive. He said, "I know you will come out alive, but don't throw stones." It is written in the 154th chapter of Pischei Teshuvah that it is the nature of children to throw stones because the "zohamas hanachash" (filth of the serpent) remains in boys. For Aaron said, "Bring me gold rings," because he knew the women would not give their jewelry for the Golden Calf. So the men tore the earrings from the women's ears; a father tore them from his daughter, a husband from his wife, and they walked with half-ears for 40 years. Therefore, it is forbidden to sew or do laundry on Rosh Chodesh (the New Month). The boys made the Golden Calf, and as the Shelah HaKadosh says, the filth of the serpent returned to them; that is why they throw stones. But the girls do not; daughters are always balanced and focused. Now there are two hours for Tehillim (Psalms), followed by Likutey Halachos, Rambam, and then Tikkun Chatzos (Midnight Lamentations). Then we sleep until Netz (sunrise)—that's five hours, but one can study 8 pages of Gemara (Talmud). Like the story of the man who didn't leave a will; they went to Rabbi Yimna, who said each son should buy an iron rod and strike the tombstone until the father rises to say who the inheritance belongs to. They broke the grave into gravel, but there was no voice and no answer; the father did not come out. They returned to Rabbi Yimna, who asked if everyone had gone. They said one was missing—one was sleeping. He said the inheritance belongs to that one. Then his wife came to the prison and said, "I had a servant, they took him, slaughtered him, made a water jug from his skin, filled it with water, and ate him." They went to Rabbi Yimna in prison and asked what she meant. He said, "You didn't understand..." Daughters should be seminar principals. Girls study until three, boys until eight. We will finish at nine-thirty, at eleven-thirty we will say Tikkun Chatzos, and we will merit the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, Amen!
