אז עכשיו אנחנו מדברים על נדב ואביהוא, מה הפירוש שבני אהרן אומרים: "אֵימָתַי יָמוּתוּ שְׁנֵי זְקֵנִים הַלָּלוּ"? (סנהדרין נב ע"א).
הם אמרו ,כבר נמאס מהזקנים האלו, אין לנו כוח כל יום הם רק מדברים דברי תורה. אין לנו כוח לזקנים האלה, אֵימָתַי יָמוּתוּ?
איך אפשר להסביר את זה?
אלעזר ואהרן, נדב ואביהוא עולים, עולים, עולים להר סיני, עולים לשמיים.
משה 6 ימים מחכה בהר עד שיוצאת בת קול ואומרת לו, עֲלֵה אֶל הָאֱלוֹקִים, ביום השביעי ה’ קורא לו. כלומר, 6 ימים הוא חיכה, ביום השביעי יצאה בת קול.

משה עומד על ההר 6 ימים בתוך הערפל בלי לאכול, בלי לשתות, בלי לישון – אליהו הנביא אומר גם אני לא אכלתי, גם אני לא ישנתי.
ה’ ה' עונה לאליהו: אתה היית יכול לא לאכול מיליארד ימים, אבל משה אתה לא יכול להיות. אתה יכול לא לאכול, לא לישון, אבל אני לא מתפעל מהצומות שלך, משה זה דבר אחר, משה נהפך לְאַיִן.
משה נעשה לאין.
