A Lesson for the 'Afuyim Belibo' Group in the Residence of the Gaon and Tzaddik

Yesterday, Wednesday, the night of the 29th of Tishrei, Parshas Noach (the Torah portion of Noah), a lesson took place in the residence of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days) for the 'Afuyim Belibo' group. Before you is a summary of the lesson:

The Rav shlit"a began the lesson by speaking about the greatness of singing Zemiros Shabbos (Sabbath songs) and shared words of encouragement and Chiddushim (original Torah insights) on the weekly Torah portion. Additionally, during the lesson, the Rav spoke about the current events of the day and said that the Tzaddik (righteous person) is the one who fights all the wars.

Afterward, he dealt with the matter of the month of MarCheshvan and the secret of King Solomon who said, 'And I will chastise you with scorpions,' which is the secret of the month of MarCheshvan, whose zodiac sign is Scorpio (the scorpion), and in which the Third Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple) will be built.

Following this, he discussed Parshas Bereishis (the portion of Genesis) and the sin of Adam HaRishon (the first man), saying that Adam intentionally caused there to be a Yetzer Hara (evil inclination) in the world. Otherwise, there would be no basis for receiving a reward and no way to serve Hashem. This way, when a person faces Nisyonos (trials), he can withstand them and receive a reward for doing so.

Also during the lesson, he brought up the matter of the Mazalos (zodiac signs) and specifically regarding a person's birthday, on which his Mazal (fortune or spiritual influence) is dominant. For this reason, Amalek chose people whose birthday it was to fight against Israel. However, the Rav said that the Tzaddik can change a person's Mazal and thus overcome even those whose birthday it is.

Toward the end of the lesson, the Rav shlit"a spoke about the story brought in the Talmud, Tractate Kiddushin 29b, regarding Rav Acha bar Yaakov, who caused the seven heads of the serpent to fall. He cited Sha'ar HaGilgulim (The Gate of Reincarnations), explaining that all these people are Gilgulim (reincarnations) from the incident of the Concubine of Gibeah.

At the very end of the lesson, the Rav gave encouragement regarding the study of Gemara (Talmud) in depth (Iyun). He instructed to open places for all types of young men so they could study Gemara in depth with Yishuv HaDa'as (peace of mind) and Simchas HaTorah (the joy of the Torah).
