Subtitles: Flames of Fire, A Lesson by the Esteemed Tzaddik Rav Berland shlit"a
18th of Tevet 5782

A lesson after the Maariv prayer by our teacher, the Gaon HaTzaddik Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a - the eve of 18 Tevet 5782
"So tomorrow at 4:30 in the morning we open the cobbler shop; everyone will start being cobblers like Chanoch, who would sew shoes—for 365 years he would sew shoes."
"Chanoch's son, Metushelach, lived 969 years, and for 969 years he would sew shoes. And after that came Lamech, the grandson, he also would sew shoes. And after that came Noach, who sewed shoes, and through this he saved humanity and was a continuation for humanity."
"Yosef is the ibbur (spiritual impregnation) of Chanoch; he is the reincarnation of Chanoch, the angel Metatron. Therefore, it is written about Yosef: 'And he was a lad with the sons of Bilhah and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives.' And about Chanoch it is said: 'I was a lad, and also I have aged.' Chanoch lives to this day."
"Therefore it is written about Yosef: 'Yosef is a fruitful vine (ben porat Yosef), a fruitful vine by a spring.' 'Porat' is 'tofer' (sewer); 'porat' are the letters of 'tofer'. For the tzaddik, who is the angel Metatron, sews shoes; all day long he sews shoes."
"Shoes mean that he transforms the crown of Rachel into the shoes of Leah. The entire work is to transform the crown of Rachel into the shoes of Leah. 'Upon Edom I will cast my shoe.' Which shoe do we throw upon Edom? What will it help if we throw the shoe? Rather, the moment we transform the crown of Rachel into the shoe of Leah, the crown of Rachel connects with the shoes of Leah. 'The chieftains of Moav are seized with trembling' (Eilei Moav Yochazemo Ra'ad) equals 274; Rachel Leah also equals 274."
"The entire work is to connect Rachel and Leah, so that the crown will be transformed into a shoe, and then 'Upon Edom I will cast my shoe,' and then we will merit the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, amen."
And after the Maariv prayer, our teacher, the Gaon HaTzaddik Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a continued and said:
"There are eight hours to sleep; it is forbidden to sleep even a second more than that, because the brain degenerates. All illnesses come from sleeping more than eight hours."
"Now everyone straight to bed. Whoever can stay awake all night, all the better, but whoever knows they will not wake up at 5:30 should go immediately to bed, and be here on time for the putting on of tefillin; 5:30 is the putting on of tefillin."
"Light is sown for the tzaddik..."
