On Affixing a Mezuzah • The Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a at the Affixing of a Mezuzah for the 'HaIchud' Offices

On the eve of the Holy Shabbat after midday, our teacher the Rav shlit"a went down to affix a Mezuzah and inaugurate the synagogue offices located beneath his home.

The Rav affixed the Mezuzah and delivered a short 8-minute lesson (shiur) on the weekly Torah portion, and at the conclusion, he distributed 'L'chaim' (toasts) to the gabbaim (synagogue administrators) and the synagogue employees.

Pearls from the lesson during the affixing of the Mezuzah:

"Now this is the most important portion of all the portions, 'And may G-d give you of the dew of the heavens and the fatness of the earth... nations shall serve you and kingdoms shall bow to you,' and for this, Esau does not forgive. If we had not received the blessings, we would be lowly and beaten, and every day there would be a Holocaust, G-d forbid (chas v'shalom). But now all the nations fear the People of Israel, and it is all in the merit of (bizchus) the blessings of Yitzchak (Isaac)." "Esau married 'Machalat' and all his iniquities were forgiven (nimchalu). When a person marries, all his iniquities are forgiven, because the wife protects the husband so that he does not commit transgressions (aveiros), so that he does not make a Golden Calf, so that he does not go with Korach—just like the wife of On ben Pelet."
