Sheva Berachot for Great-Grandson of Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit"a
This week on Monday, the 10th of Tammuz, the celebration of the final Sheva Brachot for the great-grandson of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlitâa was held. The groom, Shimon, is the son of Rabbi Nachman Triesman shlitâa, son-in-law of the Zucker family. The bride is the daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Halperin shlitâa, a lecturer at the Chochma V'Daat Yeshiva and son-in-law of Rabbi Michael Gol shlitâa, Rosh Yeshiva of the Magenei Eretz Yeshiva.
During the Sheva Brachot meal, which took place at his holy residence, Moreinu HaRav Berland shlitâa entered and began delivering a shiur for the occasion of the final Sheva Brachot celebration. Here is a summary of the shiur: The Rav shlitâa began the shiur with the topic of the counting of years. He then addressed the question of why the Torah does not mention the 39 prohibited labors of Shabbat. He explained that it is so that the gentiles would not adopt the laws of Shabbat for themselves. He also discussed the Haftarah of Eliyahu HaNavi and brought the Rambam regarding the Tzaddik who is entirely beyond comprehension and retains no trace of the physical body, being solely intellect. After the lecture, the Rav shlitâa honored the grandfather, Rabbi Michael Gol shlitâa, with leading the Zimun for Birkhat HaMazon, with the addition of âDavai Haser VâGam Charon -- Remove anguish and also fury.â After the conclusion of Birkhat HaMazon, Moreinu HaRav shlitâa was honored with reciting all the Sheva Brachot. Following the Sheva Brachot, the Rav shlitâa remained seated on his holy chair for about half an hour for the singing and dancing.Photo Gallery:
