As is known, in Jerusalem, great efforts are made not to delay the burial of the deceased overnight, and they even bury at night to prevent the suffering of the soul. However, in light of the circumstances of the death, which we will detail later, state authorities attempted to perform an autopsy on the body. This was ultimately prevented through the intervention of Rabbi Ben Zion Oyring, the commander of ZAKA (emergency response and body identification organization), thank Hashem.

The bitter accident occurred last night around 8:00 PM on Kolitz Road in Jerusalem. According to the evidence gathered so far, the motorcycle ridden by Shmuel z"l and the young man Shlomo Shimon Regev struck a female pedestrian approximately 49 years old. The young man Shlomo Shimon Regev ben Amalia was also moderately injured and is in need of many prayers.

Medics from United Hatzalah's Jerusalem branch provided initial medical treatment at the scene to the pedestrian who was moderately injured. However, to our great sorrow, they could do nothing more than pronounce the death of Shmuel z"l, due to the nature of the severe injuries he sustained.
As mentioned above, the funeral of the young man Shmuel Kosovsky z"l began today at 1:00 PM at the Sanhedria Funeral Home. From there, the procession began toward the Breslov section of Har HaZeitim (Mount of Olives). Around 1:55 PM, the funeral passed through HaChoma HaShlishit Street, in front of the home of our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. After moving words of eulogy and the recitation of Kaddish (mourner's prayer) by the Rav shlit"a, the funeral continued to Har HaZeitim, where the important young man Shmuel Kosovsky was laid to his eternal rest.
May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
