"The Woman's Role is to Stop Her Husband from Opposing the Tzaddik!" • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Presented before you is a summary of topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a—yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Thursday night, the eve of the 12th of Kislev, Parshas Vayishlach:
Diocletian, the children of the cheder (Torah school) of Rabbi Yehuda Nesi'ah—who is buried on Mount Kna'an—threw stones at him because he was a swineherd. It is written that it is the nature of children to throw stones because the zohamas hanachash (the spiritual venom of the primordial snake) returned to the sons after the sin of the Egel (Golden Calf). The Shelah HaKadosh says that during the sin of the Golden Calf, the men returned to the snake's venom; each one went to the dances for the Calf and kissed it. The women should have hit them with a club and asked, "Where are you going?" Because they didn't, they remained widows—15,822 widows and 158,222 [others]—everyone digging a grave for their father every Tisha B'Av (the fast day mourning the Temple). There was true weeping. The entire camp wept because the women did not stop their husbands. The role of the woman is to stop her husband so he doesn't follow Korach, so he doesn't oppose the tzaddik, and so he doesn't follow the Spies. "In seven ways they shall flee before you"—we say in Kiddush Levana (the sanctification of the moon) that dread and fear fall upon all the nations, but this is only on the condition that we do not throw stones. Just as they threw stones at Diocletian the Emperor, he sent a letter to Rabbi Yehuda Nesi'ah half an hour before sunset, ordering him to come to him immediately after Havdalah (the ceremony marking the end of the Sabbath). It is 200 kilometers from Tiberias to Banias—how could he get there? Antigris (a demon) arrived; the demon jumped into the mikvah (ritual bath) and said, "I have come to take you immediately after Havdalah." After Havdalah, they sat upon him and reached the entrance of Banias Caesarea, where the Emperor's palaces were. One minute after Havdalah, he was at the palace entrance. [The Emperor said,] "Throw them into the furnace; let's see if they are true Jews." After the destruction [of the Temple], when they reached Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco, he said, "How will I know you are Jews? We will throw one into the fire; then we will know you are Jews." They didn't know what to do and fasted for thirty days. On the last day, one said, "I dreamed 'two yes and three no'"—this refers to the verse, "When you pass through water, I am with you, and through rivers, they shall not overflow you..." (Isaiah 43:2). Everyone must watch over their children and have them say ninety Amens, four Kedushas, ten Kaddishim, and one hundred Brachos (blessings). "Go out from Lavan"—Lavan (whose name means white) "whitens" everything; a person thinks a sin is a mitzvah (commandment). Esau thought, "I killed Nimrod, it's a mitzvah," and he boasted about it. But Lavan says, "The matter came from Hashem, I am a tzaddik." So Hashem says, "Go out!" Through ninety Amens, one leaves all the "Lavan" (deceptions). Regarding the tzitzusa (spiritual spark), through "Go out" (Tze), it is forbidden to speak during the Chazzan's (cantor's) repetition of the Amidah. It is forbidden to speak in the middle of Kaddish. Everyone must supervise his son to ensure he says ninety Amens, four Kedushas, ten Kaddishim, and one hundred Brachos, and that he does not speak during the Chazzan's repetition. If not, the child should pray at home—this comes before everything. This morning, four girls were killed in a car accident near Yavne; this is all because they do not lengthen their skirts and do not break their Xiaomi (non-kosher smartphones). Everyone should study the book Matana D' (Gift of the Fourth) with his wife, regarding the Kabbalistic levels of Akudim, Nekudim, and Berudim. For Jacob merited the "Mouth of Akudim." Rebbe Nachman says that through the city of Luz, one enters Beit El. Luz represents the Techiyas HaMeisim (Resurrection of the Dead), and then we merit the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple). Every woman from Shuvu Banim can revive the dead. Therefore, she puts her skirt on the window, and it becomes white in a single second. One woman traveled to China and bought a dress for a million; they told her, "Give it to a woman from Shuvu Banim who found it in a 'frog' (large dumpster)." And she who has no dress will take a dress worth a million dollars. And there was a flood from the abundance of tears... they say that in another hundred years, everything will be underwater because the snows are melting and flooding the entire ocean. People will have to live in Monsey; everyone will go up to the hills and mountains. In Shuvu Banim, every woman can revive the dead, because in Shuvu Banim, no girl has the zohamas hanachash (snake's venom). Every woman is a million times greater than a man; the man is in the level of Binah (Understanding), but the woman is in the level of Chochmah (Wisdom). After the sin of the Golden Calf, everything was reversed so that the daughter has no zohamas hanachash. Therefore, let every girl see to it to lengthen her skirt, and we will merit the Geulah Sheleimah (Complete Redemption) speedily in our days, Amen!
