The Great Kabbalists: Rav Kook and Rav Sheinfeld shlit"a

A repeated request from a young man who met Rabbi Scheinfield shlit"a at the entrance to Rabbi Dov Kook shlit"a's home led him to ask Rabbi Kook what his true opinion is regarding our teacher, the holy Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

"The great Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Scheinfield shlit"a, one of the great Kabbalists of our generation, recounts in a lesson he gave two weeks ago that he was in Tiberias for Shabbat with Rabbi Dov Kook, and on Erev Shabbat, he entered to see Rabbi Kook."

"There was a young man there who told Rabbi Scheinfield that recently, those same wicked people who speak against the great leaders of Israel are saying that Rabbi Kook speaks against Rav Berland. He asked Rabbi Scheinfield to tell this to Rabbi Kook."

"Rabbi Scheinfield says in the following recording: Why is it necessary to check this with Rabbi Kook? After all, those people are informers, and a person who informs is also a liar; because if he has no problem informing, he has no problem lying, so what is there to check?"

"But that young man pressured Rabbi Scheinfield to ask anyway, and Rabbi Scheinfield approached Rabbi Kook and told him that it is being publicized that you are speaking against Rav Berland."

"Rabbi Kook replied: 'What nonsense, why would I speak against Rav Berland?'"

"Rabbi Kook continued and said: 'I pray for him every day a thousand times. I bless him, and even now I am blessing him and praying for him.'"

"Before you is the recording that Rabbi Scheinfield delivered in Givat Olga. Afterward, through wonderful Divine Providence, that same young man also left a recording on the Breslov information line (025875777), in which he recounts what happened with Rabbi Scheinfield and Rabbi Kook; it is the same young man who spoke with Rabbi Scheinfield, and he also recorded that same conversation."

"Unfortunately, in certain parts, the recording is not very clear, but one can clearly hear Rabbi Scheinfield telling Rabbi Kook what is being said in his name, and Rabbi Kook's response. Afterward, one can hear Rabbi Kook say: 'I pray for Rav Berland a thousand times every day, every day for Rav Berland, every day I bless and pray for him a thousand times, and even now I am blessing him.'"

The words of the great Kabbalist Rabbi Yehuda Scheinfield shlit"a

"There was someone there... at Rabbi Kook's, who whispered to me near Rabbi Kook's room and said to me: 'They have spread a rumor that Rabbi Kook is against Rav Berland.'"

"I replied: 'Someone who is suspected of informing is also suspected of lying...' I told him, 'Why ask him?' Well, I entered to see Rabbi Kook and told him that it is being publicized that he spoke against the Rav."

"Rabbi Kook answered me: 'Why would I speak against Rav Berland?' And after that he added, 'And I pray for him a thousand times every day.'"

Testimony of the young man who asked Rabbi Scheinfield to ask Rabbi Kook about the malicious rumors

"Hello everyone, last Shabbat I was at Rabbi Kook's; whoever knows, Rabbi Scheinfield was also there for Shabbat. On Friday, I was with Rabbi Kook and Rabbi Scheinfield in the room, and I told Rabbi Scheinfield that they had spread lashon hara as if Rabbi Kook had spoken against Rav Berland."

"I added: 'Perhaps Rabbi Scheinfield will ask what Rabbi Kook says about Rav Berland?'"

"Rabbi Scheinfield asked, 'What will that help? After all, we know the truth!' I said, 'But that is what you should ask him, and we will publicize it to everyone.' Rabbi Scheinfield agreed and told Rabbi Kook that it is being publicized that he speaks about Rav Berland."

"At first, Rabbi Kook laughed, then he said: 'Nonsense, nonsense.' There was an exchange of words between them, and I couldn't understand what they said... you will hear it in the recording later."

"Rabbi Kook suddenly knocked on the table and said the opposite: 'I pray for him every day. Every day, I pray for him a thousand times a day,' he repeated and said it again. After that, he said, 'I bless Rav Berland.'"

"I waited with this until now because I tried to make the matters as clear as possible; I hope that now the matters will be clear, with Hashem's help."

In the recording, Rabbi Kook and Rabbi Scheinfield are not heard clearly, but the main points we wrote above are heard well

Rabbi Kook answers Rabbi Scheinfield: "I bless Rav Berland constantly."

"I bless him and pray for him every day a thousand times, a thousand times every day."
